Correct an IMEI's model¶
Use this when the physical phone's model does not match its current device record. It is not an IMEI-number, price, ownership, storage/color, or QC editor.
Axis managers: correct directly¶
In Axis, an Inventory Manager can correct the model without asking another manager to approve it:
- Switch to the phone's holding company, Axis Mobile, and open its IMEI.
- Select Correct Model, choose the correct model, and enter the reason and how you verified the physical phone (or attach evidence, maximum 10 MB).
- Select Apply Correction and confirm the before/after change.
The correction is applied immediately in one transaction. No separate approval request or review activity is created. History → Authorization says Direct Manager Correction, with your identity, timestamp, reason, evidence, and both stock entries. Saving a draft alone changes nothing.
If you already submitted your own request, open it and use Apply Correction. The original submitted evidence is not rewritten; changed facts require Revise Request first. To review someone else's request, use Approve & Apply.
This is not an unrestricted edit switch. All stock, ownership, reservation, sale, return, valuation and auction checks still apply. If the page lists blockers, resolve them first or use Request Review — Keep on Hold to record the issue for another manager. A failed direct correction leaves inventory and the earlier request/hold unchanged.
Direct corrections are an administrator-controlled, per-company setting under Inventory Settings → Model Corrections. It is enabled for Axis, not implicitly for other companies. Inventory staff still use the review process below; being allowed to see another company's consigned IMEI does not authorize correcting it.
Staff: request a correction¶
- Open All Devices, find the IMEI, and select Request Model Correction.
- Select the correct existing model. Choose whether this was an entry error, a supplier discrepancy, or an import-mapping error.
- Explain what happened. Describe how the physical model was verified and/or upload a photo/document (maximum 10 MB). Avoid unrelated customer information.
- Select Submit for Review and confirm.
Saving a draft changes nothing about the phone. Submitting freezes the exact request and evidence, creates a review activity for the company's other Inventory Managers, and places a model correction hold on the IMEI. Its model, physical quantity, location and QC status remain unchanged. The hold blocks allocation, sale, transfer, packing and shipment, including API-driven workflows. A sales/QC override does not bypass it. Normal non-outbound warehouse relocation is allowed; changed device facts require a fresh request revision before applying.
If the Bids bridge is installed, a held phone is ineligible for new auction listing. The transactional catalog outbox publishes hold/release changes; an existing active listing must be released before a model correction can apply.
Manager review¶
Open the activity, the IMEI's Review Model Correction button, or Device Ops → Devices → Model Corrections. The queue initially shows open cases; remove Needs Attention to search the entire history.
An Inventory Manager in the holding company who did not submit the request can:
- Approve & Apply when no application blockers remain. This changes the current model and stock classification together, with an immutable audit event.
- Needs More Work — Keep Hold after documenting what is missing in Manager Review / Resolution. The hold remains active.
- Keep Original & Release Hold only after physically verifying that the original model is correct and documenting why. This closes the request without changing the model; other reservations, QC restrictions and holds are unaffected.
The approval button is unavailable while the page explains unresolved dependencies. It is never a permission to bypass stock, ownership or financial restrictions.
Revise without erasing history¶
Revise Request creates an editable draft linked to the earlier request. The earlier request and its hold remain in force while the revision is being prepared. Submitting the revision atomically replaces the old request, captures fresh device facts, and retains the hold. Cancelling a revision draft does not release the original hold. Where direct manager corrections are enabled, a manager can apply their own revision directly; otherwise another manager must approve it.
What an applied correction preserves¶
- The same lot record and IMEI, with unchanged purchase cost and physical quantity.
- Original PO lines, received quantities, manifest source attributes, supplier evidence, vendor bills, posted accounting and existing movement records.
- Before/after snapshots, evidence digest, requester, reviewer, timestamps, review decisions, authorization method, revisions, and both stock reclassification entries.
The original manifest's Model is its source fact. Corrected Model is populated only when the current device model differs. The PO's IMEI Corrections button explains the difference. Do not edit the original PO to conceal a supplier mis-shipment. The correction is not a supplier return or a bill adjustment.
New movement events capture the model name at the time of movement. Older movement rows have no retrospectively invented observation: when a first correction needs to preserve their last-known model, Model Snapshot Basis explicitly says it was captured before the correction, not when the original movement happened.
Cases needing separate resolution¶
The initial application path is one unreserved, company-owned unit at its recorded internal location. The target must be an active serialized device in the same product category and unit of measure. Different owners/holding companies, sales or transfer history, active or historical return cases, native serial move lines, packaged/third-party stock, and inconsistent quants need specialist resolution. The request can still record the issue and hold the device; approval cannot force the simple reclassification through these conditions.
Because correction history references the original IMEI, Unreceive cannot delete a device with correction history. Use the correction/resolution process.
